As synthetic turf is relatively new to mainstream use, you may have some questions about what it is and how the installation process works. Please reach us at info@turflogic.net If you can't find an answer to your question down below.
Artificial turf is a surface of synthetic fibers made to look like natural grass. It is most often used in arenas for sports that were originally or are normally played on grass for commercial use. However, it is becoming increasing popular for residential lawns applications as well. The main reason is maintenance – artificial turf stands up to heavy use, such as in sports, and requires no irrigation or trimming. Artificial turf replaces natural grass which needs to be maintained.
Installing artificial grass can save you time, money, and water. No more pulling weeds, fertilizing, mowing, , and applying harmful pesticides. No more allergy-causing natural grasses, pollen, tracking dirt and mud into the house. Lower your water bills while having a beautiful, lush, green lawn without the work.
Synthetic Grass is safe for pets and is very durable, in fact artificial turf is often used in pet resorts, pet hotels, veterinary clinics, animal shelters, and dog runs. Pet messes can easily be scooped up and rinsed away. Specialty pet infill such as zeolite can be used to reduce and help eliminate pet odor
Absolutely! Artificial Turf is constructed to withstand rain, snow, and all other elements it may be up against. We conduct laboratory testing on all of our turf products to ensure our turf consists of only the most durable materials available on the market. The UV resistant yarn, coupled with a dual polyurethane permeable backing, allows the turf to drain better than real grass.
Turf needs very little maintenance, which is why homeowners find artificial turf a considerable benefit and time-saving investment! In the fall, it may be necessary to rack up leaves as needed. Most stains on turf can easily be cleaned and hosed out. We do recommend contacting Turf Logic before using any chemicals on the turf. Typically we suggest testing a small amount 48 hours before applying to the surface.
There are several materials that make a suitable base for artificial grass. At Turf Logic, we primarily use a specialty crushed rock. Depending on the project, it can also include weed and mole barriers, drainage tiles or fall padding.
Because conditions can vary, we consider the location, the property’s topography, drainage conditions, intended use (residential, commercial, golf green, playground, etc.) and more.
Starting your Synthetic Turf system off with the right foundation is crucial. It supports your turf, encourages proper drainage and keeps your artificial grass looking its best in addition to increasing its longevity.
Yes, polyethylene grass blades have a melting point around 200 degrees fahrenheit. In rare cases, some low E windows can reflect harmful rays over 200 degrees fahrenheit that can damage turf.
Also, it is important to keep gas powered engine tools off the turf as their hot engine can melt the turf. It’s a good idea to keep a remnant from the original dyelot in the event you ever have damage.
Artificial Grass should be installed at 50 degrees Fahrenheit and above.
We recommend using a boxcutter to protect any fraying or damage.
